Staff Accountant (6-month Temporary)

Overview
This is a temporary position to support our business growth and digital transformation into a new ERP system and suite of tools. This is a great opportunity to learn and expand your skillset in key accounting areas for a public company, learn new systems, and have the opportunity to reshape and optimize processes under your ownership. In other words, this is a great career building opportunity! We are a relatively small and mighty GL team of five people, and your work will make a big impact.
This role offers the flexibility of working a hybrid schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will support the business and the team through:
- The monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process, including performing journal entries, account reconciliations, investigative analyses and reporting of results.
- Perform bank reconciliations. Longer term perform daily cash reporting and cash management activities including ACH/wire payment confirmations and verify the accuracy of balances, figures, calculations and postings. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Administer property tax and sales and use tax filings and audits, as well as for various business licenses, taxes and permits filings.
- Perform internal controls, documentation and testing requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley for respective areas of ownership.
- Transition and optimize respective processes, duties and work product to the new ERP system and suite of tools. Participate in user acceptance testing and training, and go-live activities.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and GAAP. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field plus 3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to correctly complete property tax and sales and use tax filings, as well as various business licenses, taxes and permits filings. Experience or general knowledge of sales & use tax preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel to build out clean and auditable schedules and calculations.
- Experience with accounting software. D365 experience a big plus!
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You enjoy collaborating with internal and external partners in a hybrid environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail – this is Accounting after all!

Total Rewards
$25 – $35/hour
