Legal Support Administrator (Temp)

Overview
This role supports WD-40 Company’s proactive brand protection strategy and management team; prosecution and litigation defense efforts; and partners on outsourced consumer claims. This role offers the flexibility of working a hybrid schedule from home and in our San Diego office. This is a short-term temporary assignment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Brand Protection
- Assists with matter management routines, including:
- Invoice review
- Cost estimate tracking in e-billing platform
- Document management and routing
- Manages the execution of legal documents requiring signature, legalization, authentication, and acknowledgements (POAs, LOAs, etc.). Coordinates directly with outside counsel and vendor.
Prosecution
- Assists with management of the trademark portfolio and implementation of the global trademark strategy.
- Participates in bi-weekly calls for docketing and with the renewal team.
- Communicates directly with vendor and foreign firms to facilitate the renewal process of our TM portfolio. Gather documents or evidence of use necessary for renewals.
- Gathers information about local firms and updates System database for TM portfolio.
Invoices & Budget Management
- Manages relationship with e-billing solution provider.
- Creates user accounts, answers questions from foreign counsel about access and invoice upload.
- Opens new matters in Brightflag weekly.
Litigation and Product Claims Support
- Files active litigation documents in legal team’s Sharepoint folders, and closes files at the conclusion of the matter.
- Initiates payment for consumer claims.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Formal education or knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in law, business, project management, communications, or related field.
- 1-3 years experience supporting a legal team.
- Experienced with e-billing, preparation and processing of official documents, and communication with outside counsel.
- CA Notary Public license required.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Must be detailed oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, show initiative, and be able to take proactively ownership of assignments.
Total Rewards
$35-$40 per hour. Pay is determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
