Overview
The Laboratory Services Manager position plays a key role in ensuring all internal and external testing is completed timely and with the highest degree of scientific rigor to get our best-in-class products to market. In this role you will work closely with our China, Australia, U.K. and U.S. R&D scientific teams in our 2-person customer focused lab to make the magic happen.
What You’ll Be Doing
The successful candidate will support the scientific discovery, testing and management of global product formulations through daily management of the New Jersey Technical Center laboratory. Primary duties include laboratory and full facility safety, equipment maintenance and experimental equipment preparation, managing staff assigned to the laboratory, designing, conducting, prioritizing and scheduling testing, and establishing protocols for laboratory access and use.
- Lead laboratory safety program through (1) chemical maintenance, storage, removal programs and (2) maintenance/enforcement of Laboratory Safety manual.
- Ensure proper data and laboratory notes are maintained, and all intellectual property protection methods are employed.
- Creation, maintenance of procedures for lab and lab equipment
- Lead the R&D staff in performing under established procedures, equipment care requirements, safety procedures, ensuring proper consideration of laboratory experience.
- Manage scientific data and intellectual property through established method for capturing data and laboratory notes, providing training and monitoring to ensure methods are employed.
- Manages and maintains R&D Budget, coordinating with all Global R&D personnel to insure accuracy and efficiency.
- Composes testing and research protocols in accordance with established R&D guidelines for products either in development or commercialized and requiring technical support; coordinates with outside laboratory facilities if required.
- Contributes ideas towards improving R&D methods, adding to the scientific knowledge of the team and solving complex scientific problems.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- 3 to 5 years experience working in a commercial lab setting or playing a key independent contributor role supporting great outcomes of a high velocity lab. Managerial experience ideal, not required.
- Experience applying the scientific method within the field of study, completing and leading others in the completion of independent work on research projects in a commercial environment, demonstrating the ability to assign and oversee tasks and achieve objectives without guidance
- Experience working with internal and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, material science, physics or related technical field, masters preferred
Total Rewards
$80000 – $110000 / year plus 10% profit-sharing contribution to your retirement account. Salary is determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data
